We love Syrah! Our Focus in Funky Syrah farmed sustainably. Stoney Vine is 18 acres and planted mostly in three clones of Syrah (99, 07, 471) with an acre of Grenache and an acre of Mourvedre. It is high density on a 7×4 planting. The rocks are clean tilled with no cover crop leading to a unique and incredibly aromatic Syrah. The soils are Freewater very cobbly loam that is 50% rock 50% soil that is 200 feet deep. It is just over 900 foot elevation. The geochemistry of the soil is different from the valley floor because of the erosive properties of the river on the basalt. It has more iron, calcium, titanium.

Stoney Vine Vineyard is located just south of Walla Walla Washington in the newly formed “The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater” AVA in Oregon.
